The Lower East Side, one of the oldest neighborhoods of New York City, has a long history of community based organizations supporting its residents. This CPI’s goals include connecting local parents to child care and head Start services and foster care recruitment. Events have included a “Teen Meet and Greet” recruitment event at the famous Poet’s Café.

Bereavement Group for children three to five
June 11, 2010
The Butterflies program is holding a 6-week bereavement for children ages 3-5. The group will be held on Wednesdays from 9-9:30 am starting June 23rd. The group will be held in English. If you know of a child who is grieving the death of a loved one, please fill out the attached referral form and return to me as soon as possible. Children must be registered in order to attend the group.

Census Day Fair

CPC will be having a Census Day fair to make sure that the community of Lower East Side and Chinatown and New York City, in general, are accurately counted.. I'm sure most of you understand how important this is, since it reflects the amount of social services needed in this community, so please circulate this to you families.
