Bushwick Community Partnership Initiative brings together a diverse group of organizations, some of which have decades-long roots in the community. The partner organizations reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community. Under the name Bushwick Making Children Important (BMCI), this CPI is working to strengthen families by linking them to support services that promote the health and safety of children.

Brooklyn North’s Harmony Day
On Thursday July 8th, 2010 more than 2,300 youth between the ages 5-19 yrs old came out for Brooklyn North's Harmony Day held at Bushwick 's Maria Hernandez Park. This event in connection with Bushwick's 83rd Precinct went on to promote unity and harmony across the age groups. Youth from all over Brooklyn North's various Community Centers Summer Programs, Summer Camps and Early Education Programs came out to participate in various activities like dance contests, amusement park rides, food and music. Bushwick Community Based Programs came out to give information and giveaways to all participants, programs like el Puente Afterschool Program, 83rd Prescient Auxiliary and Explorer programs and the Bushwick Community Partnership. The Bushwikck Community Partnership came out to talk with the youth and some adults about how important it is to have their parents come out to get information at the next Foster Care Recruitment Event and to become a foster parent.
