Highbridge
The Highbridge Community Partnership Initiative includes a number of community organizations operating in the southwestern or “High Bridge” area of the Bronx, including the Highbridge Community Life Center, Citizens Advice Bureau, Jewish Child Caring Agencies and Bronx Defenders. Many of these groups have a long tradition of working with Children’s Services to improve the lives of families in need by using the resources of the community. The partners are incorporated under one umbrella group -- “The Bridge Builders CPI.”
Mott Haven
The Mott Haven CPI is focused on increasing the quality of services for families living in this southwest Bronx neighborhood-- especially those engaged with the child welfare system. This CPI wants to create solutions for the many problems that lead to family separations. Goals include foster care recruitment and supporting visitation of families with their children in foster care. The CPI has hosted visiting days at New York Foundling where games and family-centered activities were provided for families.
Soundview
Soundview is a community rich in diversity. The mission of the Soundview coalition is to promote the permanency and well-being of children and families. To support the families in Soundview, this CPI works with community leaders, service providers, and the Administration for Children’s Services. Goals include actively recruiting new families for children in care and supporting family conferences designed to promote greater parent involvement.
