Staten Island Community Partnership Mentors have been invited to Arirang’s Hibachi Steakhouse as an appreciation Luncheon by Principal Linda Hill, of I.S.49 for participating in the Mayor’s Taskforce on truancy Initiative. The Group consists of 8 Mentors from the Community and one MSW student Intern form the CPP partnering agency NY Foundling.
At present the group mentors 15 students on the Mayors chronic absenteeism and truancy list. Mentor’s meet with the student’s weekly to talk about the importance of education and other issues faced by teens. The Luncheon will take place June 3, 2011.
