Parenting Class

We are excited to announce the implementation of a parent class at the Henry Street Settlement’s Parent Center located at 281 East Broadway in the Lower East Side. This class requires members to commit to attending a minimum of 9 sessions. The class will begin on June 7, 2010. The class will cover the following areas of content: · Child safety and prevention · Domestic violence and its effects on parenting · Substance abuse and its effects on parenting · Child development · Effective communication · Discipline techniques · Cultural and family influences on parenting styles · Coping techniques and stress management · Increasing support networks
