Technology Service Corps (TSC), NPower NY 's innovative workforce development program, is currently recruiting for the Summer 2011 and Spring 2012 cycles. As you may know, TSC is a program designed to provide affordable technologists to the nonprofit sector, while simultaneously providing young adults with a springboard to a technology career. TSC provides deserving young people the skills to be a junior technologist by providing intensive training in computer troubleshooting, basic management and maintenance of a network, introduction to databases, website production and development, as well as coaching around professional development skills. We have recently partnered with the Cisco Networking Academy to provide their IT Essentials Curriculum to our young adults enrolled into our program. The Cisco Networking Academy IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software curriculum provides an introduction to the computer hardware and software skills needed to help meet the growing demand for entry-level Information and Communication Technology Professionals. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of PC computer technology, networking and security, and also provides an introduction to advanced concepts.
