New Lower East Side Family Union MRDD Program

July 09, 2009
Lower East Side Family Union introduces new Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities (MRDD) Family Support Program.

The MRDD program is designed to support families who have members with special needs, connect them with services, and to assist them navigating the system. The MRDD team offers support and case management services in assisting consumers and families with advocacy, and referrals to Day Programs, Recreation Programs, Respite Programs, After School Programs, Reimbursement Services, and many other services.

In order to better serve the culturally diverse population, our bilingual staff speaks English, Spanish, and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). We serve Manhattan families and Medicaid is not required. Upon request, our MRDD team is available to present more information on the program. The program currently has vacancies and is actively accepting referrals.  Please see the attached flyers that describe the program and can be given to prospective clients.

For further information and to make referrals, please contact Sophia Wong at (212) 260-0040 ext. 222 or Ricardo Guzman at ext. 208.
