Junior Peer Educator Position Description & Application

Dear RHY Partners, I am happy to share with you the NYC Healthy Relationship Training Academy’s Junior Peer Educator position description and application (attached). Feel free to forward the application to any individuals or organizations who would be interested in knowing about this exciting opportunity. Note that RHY applicants will receive special consideration, since they are a key target population for our project (although it is important that the individual be stable, since this position requires a lot of self-direction and responsibility). What does being a Junior Peer Educator involve? ·Participating in a 30-hour training session (will take place over 6 sessions August 15-26, 2011) ·Observing two workshops ·Co-facilitating 3-5 workshops every month in a variety of locations throughout the five boroughs (starting in September 2011) .Attending monthly meetings (Monday evenings at 6:00pm) ·Communicating regularly with the Director through email and phone Additional Information: ·Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 22 and legally able to work in New York ·Successful candidates will be required to undergo a background check ·Junior Peer Educators will be paid $20 for each workshop facilitated and $10/hour for attending monthly meetings
