Dear partners:
“HOPE helped me open up and gave me hope for a better future. I have a bank account for the first time in my life. And, I’m setting a better example for my daughter.”
“It was a huge help in getting me out into the job world. Without it, I wouldn’t be here [working as a supervisor at a leading Brooklyn grocery store].”
"[The HOPE Program] is accessible to everybody. Any problems you have, you can always go back and talk to them. It's a fantastic relationship."
These are words directly from GROCERYworks graduates.
For the two classes that have completed this acclaimed program, 79% have already found full-time positions (82% in full time jobs!). These HOPE graduates are working at places like Foragers Market, Agata and Valentina, Three Guys From Brooklyn, Central Market, Five Guys Burger and Fries, D'Agostino, and more. The remainder of our students are in active job search. Some of our graduates have already advanced into supervisory and specialty positions, and we continue to host coaching and workshop events to ensure job retention and advancement.
The next eight-week GROCERY works class begins May 16, and we still have a few seats available. Students attend full time training in customer service, food safety, cashiering skills, and computers. They complete a 60 hour on the job training, and they have the opportunity to earn an OSHA-10 General Certification and a Food Handler’s License – all at no cost to them! Please send your qualified candidates to our information session any Tuesday or Thursdayl. Applicants should arrive at HOPE by 8:45am to attend the half day information session. We will stay in touch with you about your clients – including when they get work. Please see our referral form and flyer (attached).
