“Get A Life!” Alternatives to the Military Career Fair
Tuesday, May 10th from 1-6 P.M.
At Local 1199, 310 West 43rd St, Manhattan
(Between 8th & 9th Avenues)
This career fair will bring together dozens of:
o Employers
o Trade Schools
o Job Training Programs
o Colleges
o Travel Programs
o Community Service Programs
o Internship Opportunities
o SAT/ College Prep Programs
o College & Financial Aid Counselors
o Healthcare Providers
o Transitional Living Programs
o Veterans to Share their Experiences
There will also be pre-fair materials for teachers and youth program staff, resources to take home or back to school, and workshops on related topics.
This event is geared toward high school juniors & seniors, college students and young adults who are currently out of school, along with teachers, guidance counselors, youth program staff and parents.
Young people have limited access to the resources that can help them explore the wide range of ways to meet their goals and make informed decisions about their future plans. Few high schools have the time or staff to track down these types of resources. So we are bringing them all together in one place. Every young person should have access to current, accurate information and to the wide range of opportunities that are available to them.
To register, please fill out this form (pasted below and attached) and email or fax to us by May 4th.
