Forestdale Fathering Retreat weekend

Friday Evening Kenneth Braswell: Author of “When The Tear Won’t Fall,” and recently released workbook, “Gentle Warriors.” He has also published “What you should know about Teen Parenting Period,” and a report entitled “Teenagers and their Attitudes towards Fatherhood.” Will kick off the weekend and set the stage for a dynamic weekend of fathering workshops and discussion. Saturday Morning Rev. Alfonso Wyatt: Rev. Wyatt, the son of two Baptist preachers, is an ordained minister on the staff of The Greater Allen Cathedral of New York. He has served as an advisor to government, foundations, religious institutions, universities, youth serving organizations and non-profits from around the country. Key Note Speaker: Rob Carmona: Co-Founder of the East Harlem Employment Service/STRIVE, the original name of what is now known as STRIVE International. Rob received his MSSW in 1982 from the Columbia University School of Social Work, and his Bachelor of Arts from the College of New Rochelle in 1979. Rob resides in Teaneck, New Jersey with his wife of thirty one years. Prior to his tenure at STRIVE, Rob held a number of senior positions in the NYC not-for-profit community. Rob was the Assistant Director of Agency Relations at the Greater New York Fund/United Way, Senior Planner for the NYC Volunteer Corps, Director of Marketing for the Wildcat Service Corporation, and a Youth Counselor at Kings County Hospital. He is a founding Board member of The Workforce Alliance, and also sits on the Board of the following agencies: Self-Help Community Services, Inc., Episcopal Social Services, Inc,. Black Agency Executives, Inc., The National Puerto Rican Coalition, National Student Partnerships, Inc.
